Overview

Theo is a short novelette about an impressionable and quite beautiful young girl of 16 who falls in love with an intelligent young man named Denis. Theo's enchanting beauty and Denis' intelligent and methodical, yet very pleasant character makes the two ideally suited for each other. Readers will quickly be able to tell just how easy the decision to stay together should be, at least under normal circumstances. The romance shared by Theo and Denis, however, starts out on a difficult path, as he is engaged to be married, and she does not want to intrude on his. Between strong emotions and an even stronger conviction to do the right thing, Burnett showers us with beautiful descriptions, interesting twists and an overall well-paced plot line that will make it quite difficult to even put the book down for a short pause.
