Overview

Goetia (Latin variant of the Greek word for sorcery) refers to the practice of summoning angels or demons for the purpose of gaining knowledge and power. Use of the term in English stems primarily from a 17th-century grimoire known as The Lesser Key of Solomon. This book contains descriptions of the seventy-two demons which King Solomon was able to summon and control. Aleister Crowley edited the book in 1904 and renamed it The Book of the Goetia of Solomon the King. All of Crowley's original illustrations and notes are included in this edition.
