The Drowned World

1981, oversize paperback edition (of a title first published in England in 1963), Dragon's Dream, 158 pages. Nice combination of fantasy / science fiction, along with illustrations by Dick French. J. G. Ballard, during the war, was interned in a Japanese civilian prison camp. After leaving that facility, in the next decade, he would become a world-class science fiction writer, the originator of "The New Wave." The Illustrator, Richard French, has real talent and his color illustrations here are genuinely interesting. NOTE: There is some frontal nudity in the depictions here.
