Overview

The variety and beauty of seashells is so well known that it is easy to forget they're really the home of animals called mollusks. Eight attractive shells are included in this book for coloring: Queen Conch, Cockle, Triton, Cowrie, Chambered Nautilus, Scallop, Auger Shell, and Painted Lady Shell. The pictures are printed on special paper that allows light to shine through it. First cut the pages from the book as neatly as you can. Then color the pictures, using crayons, felt-tip pens, or paints. You'll get particularly interesting effects if you color both sides, using different colors on the backs than on the fronts. When the pictures are taped to a window, the sunlight shines through them the same way it shines through colored glass! Please refer to the inside back cover for coloring hints and identifications for the shells. The order of the pages is your key to the identifications, so make a record of them before removing the pages from the book.
