Jack "Jackie" Leroy Wilson Jr., born on June 9th, 1934, Detroit, Michigan, US, was a soul singer, songwriter and performer. A tenor with a 4-octave range, Wilson was nicknamed "Mr. Excitement," having been a prominent figure in the transition of rhythm and blues into soul. Jackie was considered a master showman, having been one of the most dynamic singers and performers in pop, R and B, and rock 'n' roll history.
