by Adam Smith
How we live is directly influenced by where we live: the land, the nature (or absence of nature), and the buildings. Here we have a collection of structures in the Boston area. In all senses, Boston is a city that lacks warmth. Its old buildings are mainly uptight Victorians, and various snobby revivals. Its newer buildings are mostly cold as well, even if structurally intriguing. Most important: Boston is a transient city, a place of money that comes and goes and accumulates mainly in its institutions. All photos taken with Sony Mavica cameras.
